Lafayette Park - Black Lives Matter 2020

An aerial view of Lafayette Park, where BLACK LIVES MATTER
was painted in the street, adjacent to the White House.
Faces of the black lives that were taken
by police, murdered by police, are superimposed
on the streets and surrounds.
George Floyd sits in the middle.
His murder had a profound effect on me.
I could not bear to watch the video of him calling for his mother.
Too painful. Too horrid.
The whole world rose up and experienced the horror.
Marches were held around the globe.
People lined up for hours to pay respects to him.
His death has initiated deep reflection and actions
to move away from hatred, racial injustice, otherness, marginalization.
Long, long roads to go. It is a start.
